How multipliers work

Skill damage = the existing damage calculation × element multiplier × animal multiplier. Double advantage is 2.56×; double weakness is 0.4225×; one of each is 1.04×.

Automatic basic attacks use the animal multiplier only. Bears and sun bears share the bear group; Shiru and Neukgu share wolf matchups. Animal matchups are game balance rules.
